It was Saturday morning and my daily routine for the past few weeks had been grueling. Each morning I’d open up my laptop, check my email, and prepare myself to see the rejection letters waiting for me in my inbox.

I recently read 100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People. The book provides a great introduction to a variety of topics in psychology and how we can apply psychology to design. The author Susan Weinschenk includes academic research, stories and visuals to explain each point in a way that is both entertaining and insightful.

While I was reading her 27th chapter in the book I came across this gem:

“People process information better in bite-sized chunks.

Having a background in teaching, I couldn’t agree more. However, I felt that her book could have been “chunked” better.


About a year ago I noticed an ad on my Instagram feed about a UX/UI Bootcamp in San Francisco. I had already been informally dabbling in the field and decided to take the bait.
